The athlete profile is the foundation of everything in Coachbase. It holds all the data the generation engine uses to build personalized, safe, and progressively overloaded training sessions.
Athlete profiles are created from the Dashboard. Click the search bar, type a name, and select Create new athlete if no match is found. You'll be taken to the profile creation form.
All fields marked required must be filled in before the first program can be generated. Optional fields enrich the generation engine and are recommended.
Full name of the athlete. Displayed throughout the app and used for search.
Date of birth. Used to calculate the athlete's age, which influences default load parameters in generation.
Used for certain adaptation parameters in program generation. Also enables menstruation tracking when set to female.
Current body weight. Influences relative load calculations in generated sessions. Updated per session if logged during training.
Body height in centimeters.
Experience level of the athlete. This is one of the most impactful generation settings — it scales volume, intensity, exercise complexity, and rest periods throughout the entire program.
Selected training goals: Strength, Hypertrophy, Endurance, Fat Loss, Mobility, Performance, and others. Goals influence exercise selection and rep ranges in generated sessions.
How many days per week the athlete is available to train. Informs program volume distribution.
When enabled, coaches can log cycle phase data to inform load periodization. The system takes hormonal cycle phase into account when generating sessions — reducing high-intensity load during certain phases to improve recovery and adaptation.
Active injury flags assigned to this athlete. See Injury Management for the full flag system documentation.
Core profile information. Edit name, body metrics, gender, and birthdate from this tab. Changes save immediately.
Training preferences, goals, experience level, and available days per week. These fields have the most direct impact on program generation output. Changes take effect on the next generation run — existing sessions are not retroactively modified.
Active injury flags and ongoing monitoring conditions. This tab shows all current and historical flags. Add new flags, update existing ones, or clear resolved injuries from here. See Injury Management for full details on the flag system.
All training programs associated with this athlete. Create new programs, view the currently active program, and browse historical programs. Completed programs are archived but remain accessible for reference.
The dashboard features a global athlete search with type-ahead autocomplete. Results match on athlete name. Clicking any result navigates directly to that athlete's profile.
The search is also available in the Gym Day Planner, where coaches can quickly find any athlete training that day.
Athletes can be archived rather than permanently deleted. Archiving hides the athlete from search and active views but preserves all their data, programs, and results. Archived athletes can be restored at any time from team settings.
Permanent deletion removes all associated programs, sessions, results, and injury history. This action cannot be undone. Only team admins can permanently delete athletes.
